How to Find Verified German Industrial Suppliers in 2026

Finding a German supplier is easy; proving it is a real operating factory is the work. Use free, official sources first, then verify the legal entity before sending an RFQ.

Where to search

• VDMA member directory - membership implies a real machinery company
• Trade fair exhibitor lists (Hannover Messe, EMO) - named staff with roles
• Handelsregister.de - official company register
• Own Impressum page - German law requires real address + managing directors

How to verify

Every German GmbH must publish an Impressum with a real address and named managing directors. Cross-check that address on Handelsregister.de and confirm the company is "eingetragen" (registered) and not "liquidation".

Red flags

• No Impressum or only a PO box
• Refuses video call / factory tour
• Generic info@ with no named contact
• Price far below market with "urgent" tone
• No VAT ID (USt-IdNr) on request
